Any person who voluntarily and knowingly possesses any motor part or vehicle with an erased, mutilated, altered, destroyed, detached or otherwise modified motor or serial number printed by the manufacturer or assigned by the Secretary of the Department of Transportation and Public Works shall incur a misdemeanor.\nThe mere possession of parts or vehicles with erased, mutilated, altered, destroyed, detached or otherwise modified numbers shall constitute prima facie evidence of the voluntary possession referred to in this section.\nHistory —Aug. 5, 1987, No. 8, p. 612, § 21; Sept. 14, 2004, No. 282, § 6.
