The transfer of a unit conducted pursuant to the provisions of this chapter shall have the following effects:\n(a) The Secretary shall issue to all registered acquirers of heavy construction or agricultural equipment units a certificate of ownership where the fact that they are the new owners of the units shall be recorded. Said certificate of ownership shall not be issued until the transfer has been recorded into the register, but its effects shall be retroactive to the date on which the transfer document was formalized.\n(b) The transfer shall not cancel or modify the liens placed on the unit.\nHistory —Sept. 30, 2004, No. 531, § 3.10, eff. 6 months after Sept. 30, 2004.
