For purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall have the meaning stated below:(a) Public agency.— Means any department, board, commission, division, office, bureau, administration, public corporation or subsidiary thereof, municipality, or instrumentality of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, including any official, employee, or member thereof discharging or appearing to be discharging official duties.(b) Advisory council.— Means the Elder Affairs Advisory Council created by virtue of this chapter.(c) Private entity or institution.— Means any association, organization, institute, or natural or juridical person that renders, offers, or provides any service or activity or that administers or develops a program intended for the elderly in Puerto Rico and receives a financial contribution from the Government of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or receives grants under the programs of the Government of the United States of America, as provided under federal laws for the benefit, care, and protection of such persons.(d) Governor.— Means the Governor of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.(e) Office.— Means the Office of the Ombudsman for the Elderly.(f) Elderly person.— Means any
