(a) It is hereby declared and provided that the birth date and literary works of Julia de Burgos shall be celebrated and commemorated in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico on February 17 of each year.\n(b) The Governor of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico shall issue a proclamation allusive to said date and shall urge the participation of public, municipal, and private entities, as well as of the people of Puerto Rico, in the coordination of efforts and activities for the commemoration provided for in this section.\nThe Puerto Rico Public Broadcasting Corporation, the University of Puerto Rico, the Department of Education, the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture, the Municipality of Carolina, are hereby authorized, as well as other public and municipal entities, to coordinate and hold activities pursuant to the mandate established by this section.\nHistory —Aug. 29, 2000, No. 216, §§ 1, 2.
