(a) The month of October of each year is hereby declared as the 'Cooperatives Month' in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.\n(b) The Secretary of State of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico shall issue a proclamation to such effect at least ten (10) days in advance of the beginning of October of each year to exhort the citizenry and all cooperatives to collaborate with and participate in the activities to be organized for the observance of the 'Cooperatives Month'.\n(c) The Cooperative Development Administration, the Cooperative League of Puerto Rico, the Institute of Cooperativism of the University of Puerto Rico, the Public Corporation for the Supervision and Insurance of Cooperatives in Puerto Rico (COSSEC, in Spanish), the Inspector of Cooperatives and the Government Development Bank, as well as the bodies, public entities and municipalities of Puerto Rico, shall adopt the necessary measures to achieve the purposes of this section through the organization and holding of activities to promote the growth and development of the Cooperative Movement in Puerto Rico.\n(b) A copy of the Annual Proclamation shall be distributed to the different mass communications media of the Island for promote the growth and development of the Cooperative Movement in Puerto Rico.\n(b) A copy of the Annual Proclamation shall be distributed to the different mass communications media of the Island for its disclosure and publication.\nHistory —Sept. 29, 2004, No. 491, §§ 1—4.
