(a) February of each year is hereby designated as 'Sports and Exercise Month' in Puerto Rico.\n(b) Pursuant to the provisions in subsection (a), it is hereby provided that the last Sunday of February of each year shall be designated as the 'Puerto Rican Athlete Day'.\n(c) The Governor of Puerto Rico, through a proclamation to such effect, shall exhort the People of Puerto Rico to observe 'Sports and Exercise Month' and 'Puerto Rican Athlete Day,' and to pay homage to all Puerto Rican athletes that have excelled in any sport, both locally and internationally, for their valuable contribution to our Island’s reputation.\n(d) The Sports and Recreation Department, together with any other public or private institution interested in these activities, shall be in charge of disseminating information about the significance of this event.\nHistory Mar. 15, 2012, No. 57, §§ 1--4.
