Employees who meet the requirements established in this chapter to avail themselves of the Voluntary Early Retirement Program for the Employees of the Puerto Rico Trade and Export Company shall exercise their decision of joining said plan within a term of sixty (60) calendar days, a term which begins after this act takes effect.In cases whereby it is required to train the new personnel who shall occupy the positions made vacant due to the Voluntary Early Retirement Program herein authorized, it may be possible to recruit those employees who held those positions and availed themselves of early retirement through contracts which shall not exceed a non-renewable term of three (3) months, without being subject to the provisions of § 1827(e) of Title 3, part of the act known as the 'Ethics in Government Act of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico'.
