(a) Every owner of a multistory building who intentionally violates the provisions hereof shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction, shall be punished by a fire not exceeding three hundred dollars ($300). In case of a second offense, he shall be punished by a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500).(b) The owner of a multistory building who violates the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction, shall be punished by a fine not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000) or by imprisonment in jail for a term of not more than six (6) months or by both penalties in the discretion of the court.
