The housing authorities which have rural areas under their jurisdiction may undertake the provision of housing for families of low income in such rural areas, and may comply with any conditions, not inconsistent with the purposes of §§ 31—38, 39—45, 46—55 of this title, required by the federal government pursuant to federal law in any contract for financial assistance with any of the authorities concerning such undertakings.
