Any official to whom the provisions of §§ 523—527 of this title apply, who violates the provisions on political contributions shall be sanctioned by a fine of not less than $1,000 nor more than $5,000, at the discretion of the court, and shall be subject to administrative disciplinary measures including reprimands, suspension or dismissal from [office].
