The Commission shall have the responsibility of directing, implementing, and supervising any referendum, consultation, or plebiscite, in addition to any other function conferred thereto by virtue of special law. Unless otherwise provided by virtue of a special law, the established local election-related bodies shall perform the functions pertinent to their charge, according to the special nature of the referendum, consultation, or plebiscite in question.\nHistory —June 1, 2011, No. 78, § 11.002.
