Any person who knowingly and fraudulently violates any of the provisions of this subtitle or who, having an obligation imposed thereby, willfully fails or refuses to comply with it, shall be guilty of an election-related crime. If no specific penalty is set forth in this subtitle for such violation, said person shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, be punished by imprisonment for a term not to exceed six (6) months, or a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500), or both penalties, at the discretion of the court.\nThis provision shall not apply to matters and controversies under the jurisdiction of the Chair, which entail the imposition of administrative fines pursuant to the provisions of § 4019(o) of this title.\nHistory —June 1, 2011, No. 78, § 12.005.
