Except as provided in §§ 712 and 713 of this title, no innkeeper shall be liable to any guest for the loss or destruction of, or damage to any property which may be brought or left by him upon the premises of the hotel operated by such innkeeper; and shall in no case be liable to any guest for any loss or damages occurring as a result of fire, windstorm, or other casualty, or as a result of any act, omission, or event not attributable to the fault or negligence of the innkeeper.
