The members shall receive a per diem of fifty (50) dollars for each day in which they carry out functions in connection with the duties imposed by this chapter, provided they are not public officers of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, in which event, they shall discharge their functions without receiving any sort of remuneration. However, the members shall be entitled to be reimbursed for the necessary expenses incurred in the fulfillment of their official duties, in accordance with the applicable regulation of the Department of the Treasury.
