Persons violating §§ 2101—2108 of this title shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be punished, for the first offense, by a minimum fine of ten (10) dollars and a maximum fine of twenty-five (25) dollars, or by one day in jail for each dollar they fail to pay, or by both penalties; and if they are recidivists, by a minimum fine of fifty (50) dollars and a maximum fine of one hundred (100) dollars, or by one day in jail for each dollar they fail to pay, or by both penalties, in the discretion of the court.\nHistory —May 15, 1937, No. 155, p. 414, § 7, renumbered as § 5 on Sept. 6, 2010, No. 133, § 12.
