Within twenty (20) days after the filling of the complaint to contest the forfeiture, the complainant shall be entitled to post a bond in favor of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico before the clerk of the corresponding court, to the satisfaction of the court, in the amount of the appraisal of the forfeited property. Said bond may be posted in legal tender, certified check, or through a bail bond company. Once the bond is posted and approved by the court, the board shall return the forfeited property to the person who posted the bond once the judicial order is entered.Subsequent substitution of the forfeited properties in lieu of the bond, which shall secure the forfeiture if its legality is ascertained, shall not be allowed once the bond is posted. In the resolution entered to such effect, the court shall provide for the summary execution of said bond by the clerk of court and for the deposit thereof in the Special Fund in the case it is in legal tender or certified check. Bonds posted by insurance companies shall be remitted by the clerk of the corresponding court to the Secretary of Justice to process its execution.
