The Institute shall receive the samples to make the DNA analysis and shall maintain the chain of custody of the evidence thus obtained. The Institute can also make the results of the analysis available to the state and federal agencies of the criminal justice system. Only the Executive Director or the person designated by him/her, shall divulge the information contained in the DNA Data Bank through an express request, in support of a criminal investigation, or to third persons who are needed to help in the statistical analysis of the genetic marker studies of the Puerto Rican population.\nHistory —July 24, 1998, No. 175, § 11.
