The surviving father or mother may appoint a tutor for each one of their children, and they may appoint various persons in order that they may substitute each other. In case of doubt, a single tutor shall be deemed to have been appointed, and the first of those named in the appointment shall be entrusted with the tutorship. History —Civil Code, 1930, § 176.
