When a new bed is opened through a private tenement by a navigable river, which changes its course through natural causes, the said bed shall become part of the public domain. The owner of the tenement shall recover the same, in the event of the waters leaving it again dry, whether by natural means or through labor lawfully authorized for this purpose.\nHistory —Civil Code, 1930, § 307.
