Puerto Rico Legal Code
The provisions set forth in § 1275 of this title, shall apply to those building in which the floors, at the time of effectiveness of this act, are constituted by virtue of the referenced legal precepts, as well as those buildings of not more than five apartments, whose unit owners wish to be subject to these precepts. However, the buildings referenced in the foregoing paragraph may be subjected to the regime set forth in this chapter with prior compliance with the requirements of § 1291 of this title.This chapter shall not be understood as a hindrance for the constitution of other joint property by floor regimes that may be set forth pursuant to other laws or norms.
