The usufructuary of lands containing mines is not entitled to the proceeds of such mines unless they are expressly ceded to him in the deed establishing the usufruct, or unless such usufruct be universal.\nNevertheless, the usufructuary may remove stones, lime and chalk from quarries for repairs or works that he may be obliged to undertake or which may be necessary in the property of which the usufruct is enjoyed.\nHistory —Civil Code, 1930, § 405.
