The usufructuary, before entering on the enjoyment of any property, is obliged:\n(1) To make, after summoning the owner or his legitimate representative, an inventory of all the property, causing an appraisement of the furniture and a description of the condition of the immovables to be made.\n(2) To give security, binding himself to fulfill the obligations imposed on him by this subchapter.\nHistory —Civil Code, 1930, § 419.
