Usufruct is extinguished:\n(1) By the death of the usufructuary.\n(2) By the expiration of the period for which it was established, or by the fulfillment of the resolutory condition expressed in the deed establishing the usufruct.\n(3) By merger of usufruct and ownership in the same party.\n(4) By the renunciation of the usufructuary.\n(5) By the total loss of the thing in usufruct.\n(6) By the termination of the right of the person establishing the usufruct.\n(7) By prescription.\nHistory —Civil Code, 1930, § 441.
