If it be indispensable for the construction or repair of a building to carry the materials through another’s tenement, or to raise thereon scaffolding or other objects necessary for the work, the owner of the said tenement is obliged to consent thereto, receiving an indemnity equivalent to the damage caused him.\nHistory —Civil Code, 1930, § 505.
