Should the owner appear, in due time, he shall be obliged to pay, as a reward to the finder of the thing, a tenth part of the sum or of the value of the article found. If the value of the find exceeds five hundred dollars, the reward shall be reduced to a twentieth with regard to the excess.\nHistory —Civil Code, 1930, § 556.
