The following shall be just causes for disinheriting parents and ancestors in addition to those indicated in § 2261 of this title, with the numbers (1), (2), (3), (5), and (6):\n(1) To have lost the paternal power.\n(2) To have refused support to his children or descendants without legal reason.\n(3) For the father or mother or ancestor to have accused the child or descendant of a capital crime except the crime of high treason.\n(4) For the father, mother or ancestor to have been careless in taking under his care the child or issue who finds himself sick.\n(5) To have refused to furnish bail for the release of the child or issue from jail when it could be done.\n(6) For one of the parents to have attempted the life of the other in which case the child or issue shall have the right to disinherit the one of the two spouses who has committed the attempt.\nHistory —Civil Code, 1930, § 779.
