If the assets of the estate should not be sufficient to cover all the legacies, their payment shall be made in the following order:\n(1) Remunerative legacies.\n(2) Legacies of specified and determined things forming a part of the estate.\n(3) Legacies which may have been declared by the testator as preferred.\n(4) Those for support.\n(5) Those for education.\n(6) All others pro rata.\nHistory —Civil Code, 1930, § 809.
