The date of a private instrument shall be considered, with regard to third persons, only from the date on which it may have been filed or entered in a public registry, from the death of any of those who signed it, or from the date on which it may have been delivered to a public official by virtue of his office.\nThe same provisions shall apply with respect to the principal in regard to contracts made by his agent, in the cases to which the last respective paragraphs of §§ 3453 and 4487 of this title refer, with the exceptions therein made.\nHistory —Civil Code, 1930, § 1181.
