Carriers of goods by land or by water shall be subject with regard to the keeping and preservation of the things entrusted to them, to the same obligations as determined for innkeepers by §§ 4693 and 4694 of this title.\nThe provisions of this section shall be understood without prejudice to what is prescribed by §§ 1001 et seq. of Title 10 with regard to transportation by sea and land.\nHistory —Civil Code, 1930, § 1493.
