After the surety has fulfilled all the conditions of section 4893 of this title, the creditor who is negligent in making a levy upon the property of the principal designated, shall be liable to the extent of the value of said property for the insolvency of the debtor arising from said negligence.\nHistory —Civil Code, 1930, § 1732.
