When a person is convicted for the crime of negligent homicide while operating a motor vehicle, in addition to imposing the punishment that fits the crime, the court shall revoke the driver’s license.\nUpon revoking the license, the following shall be observed:\n(a) The term that the convict serves in prison shall be credited to the term of revocation.\n(b) After one (1) year has elapsed since the revocation of his/her driver’s license, the convicted person must file a new application and comply with all other legal requirements to obtain said license again.\n(c) The court shall remit a certified copy of the resolution revoking the license to the Secretary of Transportation and Public Works of Puerto Rico.\nHistory —June 18, 2004, No. 149, § 62, eff.
