Any person who, with negligence, endangers the physical or mental health or infringes the human dignity of any candidate for membership in a fraternity, sorority or similar organization by means of practices that are harmful to the dignity and bodily integrity of the candidate as part of the initiation processes, shall incur a misdemeanor.\nIt shall be understood that a harmful practice to personal dignity and integrity is the forced ingestion of food, liquor, alcoholic beverages, narcotic drugs or any other substance; submission to exhausting physical activity not related to the purposes and objectives of such fraternity, sorority or similar organization; hazardous exposure to bad weather conditions; extended deprivation of food, rest or sleep; extended isolation; any type of scrape, blow, lash, beating, burn or branding; and any treatment that may adversely affect the physical or mental health or the safety of the candidate.\nIt is further provided that any educational institution that negligently allows the acts prohibited herein occurring anywhere within its premises or under its possession, custody or control shall incur a misdemeanor.\nHistory —June 18, 2004, No.
