As used in these rules, the term 'judgment' includes any determination of the Court of First Instance that finally resolves the matter under litigation which may be appealed.The term 'judgment' when issued by a court of appeals, refers to the official decision of that court concerning the appeal brought before it or concerning the discretionary remedy through which the court of appeals has issued the requested ruling. The final determination of the Court of Appeals when the latter, at its discretion, denies the requested ruling, is denominated as a 'decision'. The final determination of the court of appeals when the latter dismisses for any reason, or files an abandonment of appeal shall be known as 'judgment'.
