The Commonwealth shall promptly settle any judgment against it up to the maximum set forth in § 3077 of this title. If the judgment involves the payment of a sum of money and it is not possible to do so because there are no funds for such purpose in the current budget, the proper appropriation of funds for payment thereof shall be made in the part of the general budget of expenses for the following year, for the pertinent department or agency.\nHistory —June 29, 1955, No. 104, p. 550, § 7; Sept. 25, 1983, No. 30, p. 434, § 2.
