The referees shall fix a date and place for the hearing and shall give notice thereof to the parties with reasonable time in advance, may suspend the same from time to time as it may be necessary, and may, on petition of any of the parties and for just cause, postpone the hearing until a later date not beyond that fixed for making the award.\nAll the referees shall meet and work together during the hearing, but a majority may determine any question and make final award.
