The Department of Health of Puerto Rico is hereby designated as the Commonwealth agency which is to cooperate with the federal government, through its corresponding agencies, in extending and developing services for the promotion of maternal and child health, in accordance with the provisions of Part I, Title V, of the Federal Social Security Act, approved August 14, 1935, and as said Act of Congress may be subsequently amended; and the said Department is hereby empowered to administer all the funds which the federal or Commonwealth Government, or any political subdivision thereof, may place at its disposal, or funds from any other source, and for other purposes.
