This Office has the main purpose of avoiding the illegal import of coffee to the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, in coordination with state and federal agencies. In addition, it shall be responsible of adopting and enforcing §§ 320 et seq. of Title 5, as well as it[s] regulations, directed to establish the mechanisms to face the coffee smuggling in Puerto Rico, so the development of the coffee industry is not affected.
