The President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, as well as the Secretaries of both legislative houses, are hereby authorized to administer the oath of office to the members and employees of their respective bodies and to the officers and employees of the joint committees and of the joint-service offices of both houses. Other officers or employees may take the oath of office before any officer authorized to administer oaths. History —Political Code, 1902, § 187; June 9, 1956, No. 30, p. 90.
