Upon mobilization or activation, the period of time served shall count as work experience to be credited by the employer for purposes of professional evaluation, provided, however, that the functions performed during active military service are the same or equal to those performed in the civilian work field. The employer shall also accredit for purposes of professional evaluation any approved military training and skills course, provided, that the same are related to the functions performed in his/her civilian work field.
