For the purposes of this chapter, these terms shall have the following meaning:(a) Forests.— Means biological communities dominated by trees, shrubs, including other types of related plants and fauna found in public or private, rural or urban lands.(b) Park.— Means an area designed and molded for several types of sporting or passive recreation.(c) Connector.— Means an area or strip of vegetation that unifies or connects two or more natural systems.(d) Estuary.— Means an area in which the sweet water of rivers and ravines mix with seawater.(e) Hydrographic basin.— Means an area of collection through which water from the runoffs flows toward a surface water body.(f) Department.— Means the Department of Natural and Environmental Resources.(g) Secretary.— Means the Secretary of Natural and Environmental Resources.(h) Ecological corridor.— Means the natural pathway that unites two or more forest systems to expand the habitat of the species expediting their free reproduction and movement.
