The Program is hereby created, attached to the Interagency Board for the Management of Beaches in Puerto Rico, which shall, in turn, appoint a committee chaired by the Puerto Rico Tourism Company, which shall be implemented pursuant to the provisions of this chapter. This Program pursues the selection of pilot beaches, the promotion thereof and other measures needed to make possible for said beaches to attain the Blue Flag Program award, thus promoting internal, as well as foreign tourism, while, in turn, encouraging the protection and conservation of the beaches.
