The purposes of this subchapter are to create an emergency fund to respond to emergencies caused by hazardous substances or waste and to have the necessary funds to match with federal assistance provided under the Comprehensive Environmental Restoration, Compensation and Liability Act to remove hazardous substances or waste and to remedy the sites contaminated thereby.\nHistory —Sept. 22, 2004, No. 416, § 31, eff. 6 months after Sept. 22, 2004.
