In those cases in which an employee, in order to complete the twenty-five (25) years, needs to accredit services not credited in the Retirement System, he/she shall file the application before the Coordinator for the Authority’s Retirement Affairs (hereinafter Coordinator), before the date of separation from service. It is further provided that in order for these employees to complete the time they are lacking to accredit service not credited and thus comply with the retirement requirements established in this chapter to avail themselves of said voluntary early retirement, it shall be allowed, as an exception to § 765a of Title 3, that said employees use their accumulated vacation and sick leaves. For such effects, every twenty (20) accumulated days shall be equal to one (1) month of work.The Coordinator for the Authority’s Retirement Affairs shall certify to the System that the application for non-credited services was filed while the employee was in active service and that it complies with the other requirements of this chapter.The Administrator of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico Government Employees Retirement System shall accept the payment made by the employee for the
