Puerto Rico Legal Code
Those chaplains that shall take part in the work performed by the Government of Puerto Rico Volunteer Chaplain Corps shall have the following duties:(a) Provide spiritual and emotional guidance and counseling to persons suffering from physical, emotional, and spiritual needs and others during any emergency, incident, or event.(b) Intervene before, during, and after traumatic events in order to provide spiritual consolation and guidance.(c) Work in an affected area as part of an interdisciplinary team together with the response team of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico Emergency Management and Disaster Administration Agency.(d) Maintain a respectful, trusting, and confidential attitude with respect to any information provided by the participant.
