For the purposes of this chapter, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings stated below:(a) Commonwealth agency.— Shall mean the Commonwealth Emergency Management and Disaster Administration Agency.(b) Department.— Shall mean the Department of Natural and Environmental Resources.(c) Landslides.— Shall mean slow or sudden massive displacements of land, rocks, or other materials through slopes such as hillsides, ravines, and riverbeds. These may be the result of natural causes, the consequence of human activity, or due to the collapsing of because of the caving in of sewers or the result of high percolation in karst land.(d) Protocol.— Shall mean the Puerto Rico Landslides Risk Mitigation Protocol.(e) Mayagüez Campus or RUM (Spanish acronym).— Shall mean the Mayagüez Campus of the University of Puerto Rico.
