In accordance with the provisions of this chapter, the Permit Management Office shall review and modify the Building Regulations approved by §§ 43 et seq. of Title 23, to provide adequate fire safety in new buildings. Nothing provided herein shall prevent the Permit Management Office, in present and subsequent reviews, to establish in the Building Regulations that additional fire safety and protection mechanisms not contemplated in the present chapter be incorporated in new buildings.
