Any person violating the provisions of §§ 541 and 544 of this title shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction punished by a fine of not less than fifty [dollars] ($50) nor more than one hundred dollars ($100), or in default thereof, to confinement in jail for one (1) day for each dollar he fails to pay.
