When a member of the National Guard of Puerto Rico, outside the jurisdiction of Puerto Rico, is sued in any civil action that arises as a result of his obligations, or of any incident that originates while acting in his official capacity as such, or acting within the range of his duties or training, outside Puerto Rico, if the Adjutant General so determines it, the Secretary of Justice, at the request of the Adjutant General, shall provide the member of the National Guard with the services of a lawyer to assist him during the proceedings.\nHistory —June 4, 1978, No. 29, p. 122, § 2.
