Any person who shall violate the provisions of this chapter or of the regulations prescribed thereunder, or who shall refuse to comply with the requirements of this chapter or its regulations, or who shall fail to send the required reports within the time fixed by § 232 of this title, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction punished by a maximum fine of two hundred and fifty dollars ($250) or by confinement in jail for a maximum term of one (1) year, or by both penalties, in the discretion of the court.The Board of Medical Examiners shall, upon request of the Secretary of Health, have power to withdraw and annul, temporarily or definitively, the license of any physician who shall have failed to comply with the provisions of this chapter or the regulations prescribed thereunder. The procedure for the temporary suspension or annulment of licenses shall be in accordance with the provisions of Act No. 22 of April 22, 1931.The Secretary of Health may cancel the license and order the closing of any public or private hospital, sanatorium, clinic or polyclinic, rest home, health home, convalescent home, or other like institution wherein the provisions of this chapter or of
