No person other than a physician or dentist legally qualified to practice medicine or dental surgery in Puerto Rico shall have charge of the direction of an X-ray laboratory for the purposes stated in § 241 of this title; Provided, That nothing contained in this chapter shall affect those persons who for five years prior to its approval have been continuously in charge of an X-ray laboratory, and said persons may, within three months from the taking effect of this act, apply to the Secretary of Health for their corresponding licenses in accordance with the provisions of this chapter.
